Justice League Pt. 1 Working Title Revealed
Zack Snyder announced last week that principle photography on the highly anticipated Justice League Pt. 1 would commence on April 11. Gal Gadot is definitely going to be busy as she is currently in the final stages of her own solo film and once that wraps, she will immediately start filming Justice League.
Thanks to some casting and production notices, the working title, “Caveman,” has leaked out. A lot of times the working titles have very little to do with plot of the film or anything. However, when associated with the Justice League, one can think that this title could be referring to Vandal Savage. Savage is of course in an immortal madman who as a caveman, was effected by a meteorite that granted him the power of immortality.
Of course, Savage is currently being used on The CW, giving Rip Hunter and his band of time traveling heroes a hard time. Would Warner Bros. opt to use him even though he’s preoccupied on Legends of Tomorrow? Well, by the time Justice League Pt. 1 hits theaters, Legends will have wrapped its first season, and will be moving on to another big bad. Assuming it gets a second season of course. Or, and the less likely option here, would Warner Bros. and DC Comics be moving forward on a multiverse crossover so soon? Uniting their TV and film characters to take on Savage? Yeah, probably not, but we can dream.
Interestingly, notes also list, in addition to executive producers Wesley Coller and Geoff Johns, and Producers Charles Roven and Deborah Snyder, other producers listed include Doug Mitchell, Barrie Osborne, Dan Lin, and George Miller. Miller famously has a Justice League film all the way up to active pre-production and casting for him to direct, which wound up being cancelled. He went on to direct Mad Max: Fury Road, for which he’s been nominated for an Academy Award.
Could those rumors of Miller doing the next solo Superman film have had some merit to them after all? Who knows. Only time will tell.
Batman v Superman will hit theaters next month, on March 25, and hopefully that will give us some indication as to whom the Justice League’s first foe will be.
