Stephen Amell says Flashpoint Affecting ‘Arrow’ Comments were Taken out of Context

Yesterday, a fairly large story circulated around the internet claiming Arrow star Stephen Amell “confirmed” that the events that took place at the end of The Flash season 2, essentially propelling next season into the Flashpoint Paradox stony-line from the comics, would subsequently also affect Arrow season 5 as the shows inhabit the same universe. Well, as it turns out, that might not be the case after all.

According to Amell in a Facebook status sent out earlier today, his words were taken out of context. The original story claimed that when Amell was asked if the events at the end of The Flash season 2 would affect Arrow, he responded with, “sure”. The status posted today says that he said “sure” sarcastically, although none of the online news outlets decided to pay attention to that fact. He also claims he followed that up with, “I have no idea whatsoever”, which I’m pretty sure was left off of every single report I read about this. Check out the status below to see for yourself:

Ladies and gentlemen, I present to you more proof that you can’t always believe everything you read online. It’s a shame, because I think most fans would like to see the show “reboot” itself in a way after the last two seasons of atrocious writing. Unfortunately it looks as if Flashpoint won’t be the solution after all.

In other news, Stephen Amell hilariously corrects ComicBookMovie.com’s grammar (even though it was never wrong, in case you were wondering what the EDIT in his status was about). Were you dooped by this story? Let out your frustration below in the comments!
