Despite the mixed-to-negative reviews for Suicide Squad, fans still made their support known by making sure the movie took home a hefty some of money for WB. The movie has only been out for 13 days and already passed $500 million in the worldwide box office. That breaks down to $238 million domestically with another $271 internationally.

The movie is set to premier in in Japan on September 10th and Germany this coming weekend.

It’s rewarding to see the box office earnings play out like this, according to Veronika Kwan Vandenberg, WB’s President of Worldwide Distribution:

“It is incredibly rewarding to see audiences around the world coming out in such a big way for ‘Suicide Squad.’  We have several major markets yet to open, and expect to continue seeing strong returns at the box office for the weeks to come.”

Sue Kroll, President of Worldwide Marketing and Distribution added:

“We’re thrilled with the huge numbers on ‘Suicide Squad,’ and to be coming out of an already highly successful summer with such a big win for our slate. The film is in position for another terrific weekend as our overseas expansion continues.”

It feels good to be bad…Assemble a team of the world’s most dangerous, incarcerated Super Villains, provide them with the most powerful arsenal at the government’s disposal, and send them off on a mission to defeat an enigmatic, insuperable entity. U.S. intelligence officer Amanda Waller has determined only a secretly convened group of disparate, despicable individuals with next to nothing to lose will do. However, once they realize they weren’t picked to succeed but chosen for their patent culpability when they inevitably fail, will the Suicide Squad resolve to die trying, or decide it’s every man for himself?

Starring Will Smith, Jared Leto, Margot Robbie, Joel Kinnaman, Viola Davis, Jai Courtney, Jay Hernandez, Karen Fukuhara, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje, Ike Barinholtz, Scott Eastwood and Cara Delevingne, Suicide Squad is in theaters now!
