It was a rumor for a while, but now it’s finally official – True Blood and Magic Mike-actor Joe Manganiello will play Slade Wilson aka Deathstroke in the DCEU! Since Ben Affleck posted the short video on his Facebook, rumors came out left and right about who would play the assassin whom we last saw in Arrow season 2, played by Manu Bennett.

Fans who pay very close attention to the social media of celebrities can sometimes guess what secret project they are working on. That’s exactly what happened when Joe Manganiello posted a picture with his wife with a different haircut that looks identical to the traditional look of Slade Wilson and he was in London, where Justice League is filming right now. Now that Geoff Johns has confirmed that Joe will in fact play Deathstroke in the DCEU via The Wall Street Journal, it’s fun to think about where and why Slade Wilson is going to show up in Justice League and if he will be a recurring character that’s going to show up in all kinds of different projects down the line like a Teen Titans-movie or even his own movie.

Let us know what you think about Joe Manganiello as Deathstroke, and tell us where you want him to show up in other future DCEU-projects in the comments down below!
