‘Green Lantern Corps’ Movie To Be Written By David S. Goyer & Justin Rhodes

The eventual Green Lantern Corps film has a unique hurdle to jump over in terms of challenges. Unlike the rest of the DC Extended Universe film’s coming down the pipeline, WB already tried Green Lantern with Ryan Reynolds back in 2011, but it didn’t work out quite how they had hoped.

Currently sitting at a 26% on Rotten Tomatoes, 2011’s Green Lantern taught WB exactly what not to do with a DC film: emulate Marvel. The film was clearly a replica of the style of film that has been successful for Marvel for years. With DC, however, it doesn’t always work the same way.

This time around, it has been revealed that David S. Goyer (Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, Man of Steel, The Dark Knight Trilogy) & the relatively unknown Justin Rhodes are the men who will be tasked with writing the script for the film.

The Green Lantern Corps is described as a Lethal Weapon in space, focusing on not just Hal Jordan, but the also well known John Stewart iteration of the character.

DC heads Geoff Johns and Jon Berg will serve as as executive producers while Goyer is also set to produce.

Are you excited that David S. Goyer & Justin Rhodes have been announced as writers for the Green Lantern Corps film? Make sure to sound off below in the comments.
