DC’s The Flash Movie Officially Titled Flashpoint!
DC Comics are dominating Comic-Con 2017, with the release of the new Justice League trailer and the official new lineup of DC Extended Universe movies!
However, a reveal that shocked us all as we hadn’t expected it whatsoever was the title of The Flash movie finally being unveiled. The Flash movie is confirmed to be titled ‘Flashpoint‘!
The Flashpoint storyline was written by DC Films head Geoff Johns and it remains one of the best comic book stories of the last decade. However, it also remains to have one of the biggest effects on the DC continuity of Rebirth as well. So what kind of implications will Flashpoint have in the DCEU?! So begins the many questions…
One of the most beloved aspects of Flashpoint is it offers new perceptions of the characters we love, and it shows how different these characters are in the alternate timeline. That prospect raises some exciting questions about what can/will be done in this DCEU adaptation.
The closest we’ve gotten to having a Flashpoint interpretation was on early season 3 of The Flash CW Show. However, the adaptation was done quite loosely as they didn’t have many of the stories and characters required to tell this amazing story.
In the story of Flashpoint, Barry Allen/The Flash travels back in time to stop his nemesis, The Reverse-Flash, from killing Barry’s mother when he was a kid. However, that benevolent action creates a butterfly effect that reverberates throughout the entire DC Universe, changing the fates of many of its superheroes. As Barry tries to unravel the mystery of what happened to the timeline, the new world of “Flashpoint” faces Armageddon, as a war between Aquaman’s Atlantis and Wonder Woman’s Amazons threatens the globe with nuclear annihilation.
We will be seeing Ezra Miller’s Flash in the Justice League movie this fall.
In Justice League, fueled by his restored faith in humanity and inspired by Superman’s selfless act, Bruce Wayne enlists the help of his newfound ally, Diana Prince, to face an even greater enemy. Together, Batman and Wonder Woman work quickly to find and recruit a team of metahumans to stand against this newly awakened threat. But despite the formation of this unprecedented league of heroes—Batman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Cyborg and The Flash—it may already be too late to save the planet from an assault of catastrophic proportions.
