Review: NO ROMANCE #3

Issue 3 of Tony McDougall’s No Romance is now available, and continues the entertaining comedy series into new territory – Jon, David and Matt are joined by their potential partners.

Picking up on the second issue’s exciting tease, we see every character meet for the first time. We see the plot really kick forward, setting up a number of possible directions the story might take, one being hints that Helena might not be as good-natured as let on. I won’t spoil.

I wondered if this issue would follow the formula the first two established, doubting it in my last review – I’m glad I was wrong. The issue-by-issue setup of seeing our characters sit in the pub, relaying their stories in flashback form is a really great and fresh format.

Capture 1

It’s a fun, intriguing issue, where the plot starts to pull you in, while still staying bright and funny. I’m excited for more.

NO ROMANCE will run for 5 issues, and is releasing bi-weekly on Comixology.

Relationships are never easy. Just ask Matt, Dave and Jon. Join these three 30-something friends for a pint in the local pub as they recall their latest relationship triumphs and mishaps. Each one of them attempts to smoothly navigate their way through a relationship and hide the fact, that like most of us, they have no idea what they are doing.

If you liked that, don't miss...
